Canadian WS Brothers Visit

On May 17th, 2013, we were visited by WS Brothers from Canada for the first of what has been deemed The Annual Muddy Rivers Run. After they braved storms along I-29, we met them at Worth North Harley Davidson in north Kansas City. From there we went to dinner and then escorted them to their hotel in Lee's Summit (through construction on 435). The next day started early for some with a pancake breakfast at Steve Hacket's lodge (Belton Lodge in Belton, MO) where entertainment was provided from brothers from Indiana. That afternoon we took a nice ride through the northland, stopping for ice cream at the Dairy B in Excelsior Springs, MO and finally heading back to meet up with other WS Brothers to go to dinner at BB's Lawnside BBQ in Kansas City, MO. It was good to see so many there, we actually took up the entire outside patio. Then another ride for some while others prepared for the ceremony. The ceremony was a success with brothers from Canada and the states participating jointly. Despite a small hiccup with Snoopy's bike that Ranger was riding, we made it back to Lee's Summit ahead of the predicted storms. Sunday again started early with breakfast at Perkins in Lee's Summit where we all enjoyed brotherly conversation. Alas, after breakfast it was time to bid our northern brothers farewell. All in all it was a great time. In 2014, it's the USA's turn to venture north. We will be going to Winnipeg to visit where another WS degree is planned as well as lodge visitations. Keep an eye out on the calendar for information regarding that trip.
